The University of Notre Dame’s campus is world famous for its beauty and incredible architecture. From the gilded dome of the Main Building and the magnificent, Gothic-inspired Basilica, to the iconic Hesburgh Library mural (lovingly nicknamed “Touchdown Jesus”) that faces their storied stadium, the campus is truly one of the most beautiful and impressive in the country.
It’s also 1,265 acres. For students and staff, that means a lot of walking, often in a rush to make it across campus for a meeting or class.
The Notre Dame Athletics staff got wise a couple of years ago and started using some of our e-rideables, like the Swagger 5 Elite eScooters, to get around campus. And it’s been a match made in heaven. Now they ride the electric wave from building to building nearly every day.
Baseball coaches, Adam Pavkovich and Robert Youngdahl are the most recent staff members to get on the electric bandwagon. They’re hooked and never going back.
SWAGLIFE AT NOTRE DAME UNIVERSITY
“It was extremely difficult getting from one meeting to the other prior to having our Swagger 5 Elites. Working in collegiate athletics we are often extremely busy and crunched for time — so having an easy, safe, and quick way to travel has made our work on campus significantly easier.” We asked Pavkovich and Youngdahl what fuels their passion for coaching at Notre Dame and keeps them electrified.
“I think, what electrifies every member of our coaching staff is the student-athletes. They are the whole reason we all decided to pursue careers in coaching. We are motivated to develop young men into the absolute best versions of themselves that they can be. Baseball is a very challenging game. It takes a lot of hard work, extreme discipline, and the ability to deal with failure. Instilling this work ethic and behavior in our student-athletes is the driving force behind what we do. The best part of coaching for Notre Dame Athletics is the opportunity to represent such a prestigious and world-renowned University that holds everyone involved to such a high standard. Every single day it is expected of you not only to abide to these extremely high standards but to also demand the same of the student-athletes you have been chosen to work with.”
ABOUT THE SWAGGER 5 ELITE
Notre Dame expects the best from their professors, administrators, staff and students. So we couldn’t be prouder to have our products in such demand with the ND Athletics team. You see, we’re big fans of high standards as well and it shows in our Swagger 5 Elite. It’s everything you’d expect from our flagship electric scooter. The 250-watt motor and long-lasting ion battery give you up to 11 miles at 18 miles per hour and 8.5-inch tires give you smooth ride, even over rough terrain.
Our intuitive companion app lets you activate cruise control, plan your route with GPS, control the headlight, and connect to the integrated Bluetooth. The included bar mount lets you turn your smartphone into a real-time, heads-up display. We’re committed to changing the game and your trek across campus will never be the same.
